Who may qualify
Common appropriate candidates
- Routine colon cancer screening
- Positive Cologuard or other approved screening test
- History of colon polyps requiring surveillance
- Stable GERD or selected dysphagia evaluation
- Selected iron deficiency anemia or rectal bleeding
- Family history of colon cancer

Exclusion criteria
- Significant cardiac or pulmonary disease
- Complex anticoagulation management
- Severe obesity
- Prior anesthesia complications
- Complex GI symptoms
- Other high-risk conditions identified during review

Do I need an office visit first?
Not always. Appropriate patients may be scheduled after Dr. Gay personally reviews the referral, medical history, medications, and available records.
Can I request direct access without a referral?
Yes. Patients may submit a self-request, but physician review and approval are required before scheduling.
What if I am not eligible?
The office will recommend an office consultation or other appropriate next step when additional evaluation is needed.
Is direct access safe?
Safety screening is central to the process. High-risk conditions, complex symptoms, and anesthesia concerns require consultation before a procedure.
