I made an appointment with Dr. Gay after receiving a Hernia diagnosis. He was recommended by a nursing friend who had done several surgeries with him, and was able to get me in for a consultation within a week, and surgery just a week later (which is much quicker than they were estimating at my regular provider). Dr. Gay was very friendly and willing to answer questions that my wife and I had. The day of surgery, Dr. Gay worked with the hospital staff to ensure that I was confirmable and that everything went smoothly. It seems like the surgery went well, and we met with Dr. Gay again yesterday for the post-surgery follow-up appointment, where he once again answered all of our questions and provided great post-op exercise suggestions.

Dr. Gay was very open to my needs and desires for my inguinal hernia repair, not wanting mesh and wanting dissolvable sutures. He completely explained to me what he does in that case at the pre-surgery appointment. Then when in the pre-op room and I'd forgotten what he'd told me, he very patiently went over the technique he uses, what he would do and use to effectively repair the hernia.
